My Story

I have been writing most of my life, starting with a chapter book in fourth grade about a girl who wanted to become a nun but her parents forbade it.  (I really wish I had saved that script!)

I love the written word and I am most at home at the keyboard, with the exception, perhaps, of being on or back stage of a theatre. The theatre is a second home to me and I feel I can breathe more easily just standing on a bare stage or behind the scenes where the creative magic begins.

I started out as an actor and children’s theatre director, but it is my role as playwright and novelist that I find most rewarding.

In the end, fiction is about story. We all enjoy a good yarn and it doesn’t matter if it’s found in a podcast, magazine, book, film, play or blog. It’s what’s being told and how it’s being told that counts.

Through this all, though, what really sustains me  is my wonderful family. They are the ones who sing my heart, who inspire me, all day, every day
